According to a report by TASS on April 12, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that Russia is ready to deliver as much oil as China needs.
Regarding the question of whether China will buy more Russian oil if the US oil supply to China drops to zero, Rudenko replied: “I think China’s actions will first be based on its own national interests. If the national interest requires the purchase of oil, China will certainly do so. This is the choice of our Chinese friends.”
According to reports, experts believe that if the current tariff rate is maintained, US crude oil exports to China may drop to zero in the coming months. As China imposes tariffs on US goods, it will be unprofitable for Chinese refineries to process US crude oil.

Trump: Negotiations with China are crucial
According to a report on the Russian Satellite News Agency website on April 13, US President’s special envoy Richard Grenell said that Trump believes it is crucial to negotiate with China to find a way out of the trade confrontation.
According to reports, Grenell said on the Fox News Channel program that Trump is a “master of negotiation, but to negotiate, you must talk.” In addition, Grenell firmly believes that Trump “believes in peace agreements.” He said on the show: “We have just gotten rid of the situation where (former President) Biden did not talk to (Russian leader) Putin for more than three years.” Trump previously signed an executive order on the so-called “reciprocal tariffs” on goods imported from other countries and raised the tax rate several times. In response to the so-called “reciprocal tariffs” of the United States, China has successively issued a number of countermeasures. On April 11, the Tariff Commission of the State Council of China issued an announcement stating that from April 12, the tariff rate on imported goods originating from the United States will be increased from 84% to 125%. It also pointed out that given that at the current tariff level, there is no market acceptance of US goods exported to China, if the United States continues to impose tariffs on Chinese goods exported to the United States, China will ignore it. Regarding the issue of US tariffs, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that there are no winners in tariff wars and trade wars. China is unwilling to fight, but it is not afraid of fighting. If the United States really wants to solve the problem through dialogue and negotiation, it should stop exerting extreme pressure and acting recklessly. Any dialogue must be based on equality, respect and reciprocity. If the US insists on launching a tariff war or a trade war, China will fight to the end.
